Hassan: "I considered ending my international carreer"

The captain of the Egyptian national team, Ahmed Hassan, has come out to refute claims that he is going to retire from international football, but admitted that he had considered doing so just after winning the Africa Cup.


"I considered hanging up my international boots after our triumph in Ghana. However, I quickly halted any retirement plans after realizing my responsibility as Egypt's captain."

"The joy of Egyptian people after seeing their national team win the prestigious title was also an important factor in convincing me resume my international career."
