Clarification about Iachtchouk

The past days, lots is said about Oleg Iachtchouk. Yesterday was announced that he is selected for the national team of Ukraine, but he wouldn't be allowed to play for Ukraine anymore.



So, how is the situation now? Iachtchouk is married with a Belgian girl, and he chose for the Belgian nationality last year. He now has 2 passports, but the problem is that Ukraine doesn't accept the double nationality. So Iachtchouk is a Belgian, and he isn't allowed to play for Ukraine anymore.

In the mean time, Anderlecht informed the Belgian Football Federation about the situation, they will inform the Fifa then. The Fifa will have to warn Ukraine.

Iachtchouk: "I prefer playing for Ukraine. I asked to investigate whether that is possible. I have two passports, but I am a Belgian. I would need permission to travel to my own country."
