No new league form

On Friday, the 'Profliga' discussed a reformation of the first division. They didn?t reach an agreement. There were plans to divide the 1st division in 2 groups, with play-offs.


"We are not going to change the current league form" said chairman Jean-Marie Philips. "The clubs couldn?t agree about the play-offs: Do we have to start with zero points or with the points obtained from the first round?".
"In the future, we'll probably get a league with 16 or 14 clubs, but the economical situation must point out which teams will survive. We will also improve our licence system and the 'Profliga' will sponsor fusions between two clubs."
