The bad prestations of Anderlecht have its influence on the selection of national coach Robert Waseige. Belgium plays its first play-off game for the World Cup, against the Czech Republic, without one Anderlecht player.

De Boeck and Vanderhaeghe are replaced by Clement and Simons, both players of Club Bruges. Waseige's explaination was that the Brugians are more attentive the last weeks. So the Anderlecht players are not out of the team for ever.
The tactic plan will depend on the Czechs. "With these players, we can play a 3-5-2 but also 4-4-2," said Waseige.
The team: Geert De Vlieger, Philip Clement, Eric Deflandre, Eric Van Meir, Nico Van Kerckhoven, Sven Vermant, Timmy Simons, Johan Walem, Bart Goor, Gert Verheyen, Wesley Sonck
