Belgium defeated the Czech Republic with 0-1 and will play at the World Cup 2000 in Japan and South-Korea. The Red Devils had a hard first quarter, with good chances for the Czechs.

Goalkeeper De Vlieger saved the Red Devils several times, but slowly they regained control over the game. though this only resulted in one chance for Belgium through Sonck.
In the second half, the Belgians play a lot better and they created some chances. The Czechs were demoralised and they dropped their pressure. Verheyen missed some great chances for the Belgians, but when he was kicked down in the box, referee Frisk gave a penalty, that was scored by Wilmots: 0-1. The Czechs got frustrated and they got 2 red cards in the last minutes, but most important is that the Red Devils are going to a new World Cup!
