Courtois new manager

The secretary of the Belgian Football Organisation, Alain Courtois (50), will be the new manager of Anderlecht on January 2, 2002. That's what was announced this morning in a press conference.

Courtois will co-operate with current manager Michel Verschueren (70). Verschueren's contract ends in 2002, but it's not clear yet what will happen to him.
"We already had a friendy band with each other for a long time. When Vanden Stock asked me if I was able to do my job longer, I gave a positive answer", says Verschueren. "But the business world is becoming more tough and a second manager won't be a luxery. So the arrival of Courtois gives me more confidence."
