A fist division with 14 teams is getting closer. The G5(Anderlecht, Bruges, Genk, Ghent and Standard) already said that they wanted to shrink the highest division.

Yesterday 6 presidents of Flemish clubs talked, on the initiative of the Lokeren-president and the person that took Beerschot over Roger Lambrecht, to know if they are interested in such a competition. The meaning of Lambrecht is certainly to shrink the competition to 14 clubs. Besides Lokeren and Germinal Beerschot, the presidents from Lierse, Lommel, Sint-Truiden and Westerlo were in a hotel in Antwerp. If those 6 clubs agree with G5 than the League has one vote short to agree on the shrinking of the competition. That vote could come from the not invited but also ambitious Walloon clubs Mouscron and/or Charleroi.
