Belgium-Algeria ended on a 0-0 draw.
The first half was weak and the Red Devils couldn't create any danger. Belgium had difficulties controling the game, but claimed a penalty when Mbo Mpenza was pulled down in the box.

Also the tactical plan didn't match since the Red Devils kept playing with 4 defenders, while Algeria only had one striker.
The African team came the closest to a goal, when a header of Drioueche missed the bar for inches. Half-time: 0-0.

Coach Waseige swapped 6 players at half time and this resulted in more offensive play. De Vlieger saved a shot of Akrours and Vanderhaeghe's kick from 20 meters hit the crossbar.
Vermant slipped through the defense after a pass of Strupar, but Gaouaoui saved with ease.
Algeria was hunting on the Belgian in ball possession, that resulted in unprecise play... The score remained 0-0: a bad result for Belgium.
