Korean national team striker Seol Ki-hyeon will undergo surgery on Friday to repair his left cheekbone which was fractured during a collision with teammate Ahn Jung-hwan in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier with Lebanon in Suwon.

Seol picked up the injury as he and Ahn raced for a pass in the Lebanese goal area in the 48th minute. He is currently staying at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and was reported not to be in serious situation.
"We examined his face to find the exact position of his injury last night. He is in a good condition at present and even has no difficulty speaking," a staff member at the hospital told The Korea Times on behalf of Park Sang-hoon, the plastic surgeon in charge of Seol's surgery.
"In a week after the surgery there will be no problem in doing things for daily life, but it will take an extra 2-3 weeks for him to resume playing," he added.
Seol was supposed to depart for Belgium on Friday but the schedule will have to be rearranged. While he is certain to sit out several games for Anderlecht he will likely be ready for South Korea's next World Cup qualifier away to Maldives on March 31.
