UEFA Cup Matchday Three Preview

It is the third matchday of the group stage of the UEFA Cup. Anderlecht have a European day off but nevertheless the outcomes of the Group G matches are important for the Mauves qualifying for the next stage.


Getafe play at home against Hapoel Tel Aviv, while Aalborg travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur.

A win for Tottenham will see them jump Anderlecht on top of Group G, although the English team will have played one game more. It is only Aalborg's second match, and a win is vital for the Danes to keep their hope of qualification alive.

It is an easier assignment for Getafe as they face the bottom-ranked Israeli side. Tel Aviv have not scored a goal and are in the relegation zone domestically.
