Mbo Mpenza made his return to the Anderlecht line-up in Friday's friendly against Valenciennes, scoring the equaliser in injury time. The striker is hoping to play more under the new head coach, but still is looking at moving.

"The last two, three weeks, the medical staff and I decided not to take any risks," says the oldest of the Mpenza brothers in SudPresse. "I've trained hard to get back at the top."

Under Vercauteren's reign the speedy striker was often a substitute. "I don't want to start an argument with Vercauteren," said Mpenza. "But with the new coach perhaps I'll get more chances."

"At this point I only have one goal: get my form back as soon as possible. We need to play better soon. Perhaps there will be more competition now the strikers have returned from injury."

However, the arrival of a new coach has not changed Mpenza's mind. "The departure of Vercauteren changes nothing. I'm still hoping to leave in January for a foreign club if the possibility presents itself."
