Anderlecht could have closed the gap on leaders Standard this weekend but instead played its fifth draw of the season against Cercle Bruges. Manager Van Holsbeeck says Anderlecht will need to weather the storm.

The manager realises the team is not in top form at the moment, but emphasizes the many injured players. "Boussoufa and Hassan were absent against Cercle Bruges and Frutos is still not 100%. Those are mitigating circumstances," said the Anderlecht manager in Studio 1 last night.

"Everyone sets the bar high for Anderlecht. I would like to point out that we won three titles in the last four seasons and that the club is the only Belgian representative in Europe."

Van Holsbeeck is hoping the team can minimalize the damage and promises reenforcements in January. "Luckily the medals are handed out at the end of the season. At the moment we need to cling on and hope to minimalize the damage. One or two players will arrive in January."
