Reactions after the game

Anderlecht qualified for the UEFA-Cup group phase. The players, chairman and trainer were of course very happy after the game. Vercauteren: "This gives us confidence. A topclub always shows itself under hard circumstances."


Vanden Stock: "I'm very pleased! This is a great experience after all the bad things that happened to us in the last few weeks. We played well in the first 30 minutes and scored. From then on we controlled the game and prevented Rapid from creating chances."

Zitka: "We fought for every ball and I'm glad we won. It's also nice that we could hold the nill."

Deschacht: "We made the difference in the first 30 minutes. It's a pity Bruges is eliminated. Belgium has to take points for its ranking. But that doesn't change my feeling: I'm happy!"
