The Austrian visitors believe in a good result for tonight. Rapid Wien coach Peter Pacult is not impressed by Anderlecht. "This is no longer the big Anderlecht of 20 years ago. The pressure lies with them, not with us."

Richard Niederbacher, the former topscorer of SV Waregem, has scouted Anderlecht twice. "Anderlecht underwent a real metamorphosis. After the Supercup game I thought Anderlecht would easily go on to win the championship. But Saturday Van Damme was playing as an offensive left-winger. If you're forced to put a defender in the attack you have a problem."

The statistics seem to be in favor of Rapid Wien. Out of 16 games against Belgian opponent, eight were won and six ended in a draw. The Austrian club did lose the last two: in 2005 it lost against Club Bruges in the Champions League with 0-1 and 3-2.
