At first Cyril Théréau was approached by FC Bruges, but the striker changed his mind and signed for Anderlecht where he seems to lack self-confidence. "My adaptation takes longer than expected", admits Théréau.

Of course I'm disappointed that I don't play a lot, but I can't be the hero of the team right way", said Théréau in the papers.

Théréau does not regret his choice yet. "Choosing for Club Bruges would certainly have been the easiest solution for me. In Bruges I would have been certain of my place. The competition there cannot be compared with the competition at Anderlecht. It does not make the integration easier, but the challenge is bigger."

Although, Théréau is missing Jacky Mathijssen as trainer. "Mathijssen approaches players differently than Vercauteren. He was also a trainer who talked a lot with me and I miss that with Vercauteren. I need the communication."
