RSC Anderlecht won the Belgian championship two times in a row, but exactly that is what worries coach Frank Vercauteren. "We have to be careful. It's very important to stay sharp and concentrated", Vercauteren states.

"It's an advantage that we kept the squad together, but that doesn't mean we will make a great performance. We have to make progress. My players already showed their skills, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mémé Tchité scored 35 goals this season. The most important task will be to stay focussed.

Cyril Théréau and Triguinho, who both joined Anderlecht this summer, need more time to adjust to their new environment. "Triguinho played for FC Barcelona, but that was seven years ago. I also played for Anderlecht twenty years ago, but that doesn't mean I would be a good player now", Vercauteren reacts ironically.

Frank Vercauteren predicts an exciting season. "I don't think that the winner of the championship will have a 15-points-lead. Racing Genk and Club Bruges made good signings, and Standard are always a tough team to challenge. Don't underestimate AA Ghent either", the coach warns.
