Anderlecht have reached an agreement with Polak

This afternoon RSC Anderlecht has reached an agreement with Jan Polak. The 26-year-old Czech midfielder, who will use shirt number 8, has signed a four-year contract with the club.


Thus the club's long search for a so-called box-to-box midfielder comes to an end. The media speculated over the transfer fee Anderlecht have to pay. Many sources mention 3.5 million euro, but according to manager Van Holsbeeck this is exaggerated.

Jan Polak is authorised to play in the Champions League for Anderlecht.

Jan Polak was already scouted by the Mauves a few years ago. He started his carreer at Brno, before moving on to Slovan Liberec and finally FC Nuremberg in the Bundesliga. During the last two season, he scored four goals for the German club. Since 1999, he was selected 30 times for the Czech national team.
