Anderlecht's budget is now 40 million

Anderlecht will start the season with a budget of 40 million euro. Last year, the budget was only 29 million euro. Van Holsbeeck: "By selling Vincent Kompany and Christian Wilhelmsson we gained 16 million."


"On top of that, we qualified ourselves for the Champions League for the 4th time in a row. We were also the only Belgian team in the Champions League, so we didn't have to divide the profit with other clubs. That's a good thing, but we need more teams in the Champions League. Else Belgium will lose a few places on the ranking, which is bad for us too."

"Also our commercial profits rose last year with 2 million. If we can build a new stadium, we can even double our budget and selling about 32.000 season tickets. A new stadium is the only way to keep on growing."
