Will the club move to Schaarbeek? Vanden Stock denies...

In the Belgian press, several articles showed up announcing Anderlecht would move to Schaarbeek, in the north of Brussels. Today on a press conference, chairman Vanden Stock denied the rumours.


"We haven't made up our mind yet. We're awaiting the final decision of the municipality of Anderlecht. If we cannot build our new stadium here, we'll move to Schaarbeek", he said.

Though it seems like the club already have concrete plans made for their new home. The stadium will have 50.000 seats and will cost around 200 million euro. The biggest part will be paid by the city of Brussels. Anderlecht and the national team will rent the stadium.

There will be room for commercial activities like concerts. Further, several offices will be available inside the stadium. The club wants to start the construction works around 2010. Completing the building will take up to three years.
