Beerschot willing to sell Sterchele

In the near future Anderlecht will set up talks with Germinal Beerschot, the club of Belgian topscorer François Sterchele. According to Aimé Anthuenis, sporting direct at the Antwerp club, Sterchele is worth 4 million euro.


"I'm not saying he will leave for that kind of amount," says Anthuenis. "During the negotiations we will have an idea of how much the other party is willing to pay, but if Sterchele has the opportunity to earn three or four times as much as he does here, it will be difficult to keep him," knows the ex-Anderlecht coach.

Anthuenis is convinced Sterchele could compete with Frutos and Tchité. "If he plays 34 games at Anderlecht he could go on to score 25 goals." According to some sources Mbo Mpenza, who seems to be at a dead end at Anderlecht, could be involved in a deal.
