Potential arrivals

About Marouane Fellaini: "He is a midfielder that can bridge the distance between the two penalty areas, and in Belgium the best of his kind. However, at this moment there's no way we will approach the player because we want to respect the appointments made surrounding the law of '78. If Standard offers him to us, we will look into the matter. Chances are small, however, since numerous foreign clubs are tracking him already."

About Karel Geraerts: "The Standard midfielder is an excellent player, but we like to think we have youngsters in our squad - Tioté, Lamah and Vadis - that can match his qualities."

About François Sterchele: "It's a class player, but we'll never pay the 4 million euro his club is demanding. Don't forget Nicolas Frutos merely cost us 2.5 million."

About Panamese striker Blas Pérez: "An excellent player that we missed out on due to information that was leaked to the press."

About the Argentinian midfielder Leandros Somoza: "The problem is that he is looking to stick with Villareal in the Spanish league. It will be difficult to convince him otherwise."

Potential departures

About Mémé Tchité: "At this point no offer has been made. The question is not if we're prepared to accept a 10 million offer - in that case Tchité might still decide to stay. However, we've learned from the case with Aruna Dindane two years ago that we cannot keep a player against his will."

About Silvio Proto: "Silvio wants to stay at Anderlecht. He knows we need three top goalkeepers and that outside of Belgium he will come up against heavy competition as well. We will certainly have need for Proto next season, although Zitka will start as our number one keeper."

About Walter Baseggio: "I used to think he didn't go all the way, that he had much more potential than he displayed on the field. Today, I'm his biggest defender. He has changed after his spell in Italy. He can still be decisive at Anderlecht but he will have to deal with heavy competition."

About Mbo Mpenza: "Mbo still has a contract and can stay. However, he did not play much. If clubs are interested we're willing to talk."

About Dieumerci Mbokani: "For a player of his skill, we think he would've cost us too much. In Standards eyes he is worth more so they were willing to pay more."

About Bart Goor: "Bart can still add a lot to this squad, but it would be logical that Triguinho will play often at his position, seeing that Bart Goor's contract is ending next season."
