Vincent Kompany, the modesty himself, doesn't feel like a star in Anderlecht. That he now slowly becomes a famous Belgian doesn't disturb the 17-year old defender at all.

"A normal boy"
"It is not because I play for Anderlecht now and slowly become a well-known Belgian, that I become arrogant. I don't want to change, I want to remain as I am. In the school I'm just famous because I miss so many lessons. They already know that there is a future football player in their class. It will be difficult to combine football with school. But I will find a solution for that problem."

"Develop in Anderlecht"
"When I stay in Anderlecht, is that because I think I still have lots to learn as football player. My positioning and my headers can become much better. In Anderlecht, I get the chance to develop myself, and I can collect Champions League experience. So it's better if I go to a big club in two or three years."

"Manchester United"
"If I had gone to England, I would be sitting on the bench now. Who says that I would play as good as I play here? As long I'm not completely developed, there's a chance that I end up on the bench in such a topclub. And then I will have to return to Anderlecht. I still have lots to learn if I want to make it in a team like Manchester."
