Van Holsbeeck: "Our mentality was our strenght"

Anderlecht won the 29th title in the Jupiler League last Saturday, and it is needless to say that manager Herman Van Holsbeeck reacted delighted after this important moment in the Anderlecht history.


"It was an incredible night", Van Holsbeeck stated. "I didn't expect this is my best dreams. Defeating Brussels with 6-0 and winning the title is just great. This is a great relief, because a lot has been said in the newspapers the last couple of days. We stayed calm and reacted on the pitch like a real team. The criticism gave us positive energy. We've been working on the mentality of our squad for the last two years, and finally it pays off."

"This is the title of renewal", Van Holsbeeck goes on. "Seventeen players left Anderlecht last season. People were even making jokes about the team we were going to play with. Our players, coaches, the board, everyone made a great performance this season."
