Vercauteren: "Standard was more efficient"

"In two games Standard showed itself to be more efficient than us," concluded Vercauteren. "Everything worked out after we scored the equaliser. We played higher and increased the pressure. But we forgot to finish our chances."


The coach defended his goalkeeper after a faulty control that lead to a penalty. "Standard was in difficulty until that error," said Vercauteren, "but we're not looking for someone to put the blame on. When a goalkeeper makes a mistakes it always has big consequences. That's part of the game."
