Ahmed Hassan quickly became one of the most admired players among the fans. It is no surprise then that the board wants to keep the Egyptian playmaker. But just in case he does leave, Anderlecht has constructed a back-up plan.

Van Holsbeeck has told Het Nieuwsblad has been looking for a replacement. "It concerns a foreign player. That's all I can say."

Chances are Hassan will leave, although he has recently said he might take a decision that is to the advantage of all parties. That could mean Hassan would stay until the transfer window next January. This way the midfielder could take part in the Champions League while giving the club the necessary time to look for a replacement.
