Captain Olivier Deschacht was satisfied with the result but predicts a race for the title until the very end. "We were especially strong in the first half. The second half was less good, but that's normal when you lead 0-4."

"It was disappointing to hear just before our game that Genk won theirs by scoring in the very last minutes. But now that we won, things are back the way they were. It'll be a battle until the very end for the title."

Jelle Van Damme played a good game in midfield and gave the assist for Legear's second goal. "We trained really well this week, we were very sharp, and it's fantastic if you can deliver such a performance. The quick goal was really important. This was one of our best games of the season."

Coach Vercauteren was pleased with the result as well and praised his players. "Before the match the pressure was huge. Genk had just won their game so winning was the only option. We simply have to win every game. We have it in our own hands."

"Of course the title is more important than the cup. But at Anderlecht you need to perform well in the cup too. With the cup game against Standard it'll be difficult couple of weeks."
