Cup: Anderlecht crush Genk: 6-0 !

Anderlecht qualified for the semi-finals of the Cup. The Mauves defeated Genk with 6-0. Anderlecht had also won the first leg with 1-0. Von Schlebrügge, Frutos, Hassan (2x) and Tchité (2x) scored the goals.


Genk took the best start with a few small chances. But after a few minutes, Anderlecht took the command of the game and never loosened their grip. A few excellent chances followed. Frutos could have opened the score, but Hassan touched his shot, which was going in, from an offside possition.

The Mauves kept on playing at high pace with a fast ball circulation. On a free kick, Von Schlebrügge headed the ball in the nets: 1-0. The opportunities kept coming and Genk could only create some danger in the last minute of the first half.

The second half started spectaculary. Frutos was sent through the defense and goalkeeper Bolat had to stop him with a foul: penalty and red for Bolat. Frutos scored the 2-0.

Seconds later it was even 3-0 when Hassan made a great goal. His shot from 30 meters went over the goalkeeper into the nets: 3-0.

And it still wasn't over. The Mauves kept pushing Genk back. Boussoufa was unlucky when his effort came back off the post. From then on Anderlecht controlled the game, entertaining the fans with nice dribbles and chances. Twelve minutes before the end, Tchité headed the 4-0 in the goal. Two minutes later, he also made the 5-0. Hassan put the final score on the scoreboard with his second of the evening: 6-0!
