In Belgian newspaper De Standaard, Anthony Vanden Borre talks for the first time about his transfer to the Italian club Fiorentina. "I see it as a new start and I am highly motivated"

Even though the transfer is not fully completed yet, the midfielder considers it a dream come true. "When I saw that beautiful stadium I thought I was dreaming. Just like Maaroufi at Inter, I will be a Brussels youngster in the Serie A." Despite going through a difficult period, he felt that the Italian club has a lot of faith in him. "They noticed my performances in the Champions League and tracked me during some other games as well."

Vanden Borre does realise he will have to work hard to achieve a place in the starting line-up. "I'm not going there as a tourist. I'm really motivated to succeed. I'm positive I will book a lot of progress. I'd feel liberated there."

The 19 year old concluded by saying he would love to leave Anderlecht by winning the title and the cup.
