Despite heavy competition for a spot in the central defence, Pareja seems to be certain of a place in the starting line-up. The Argentinian asked to be moved from right-back to centre-half because he feels more at ease there.

"I played right-back for a number of games out of necessity, but I didn't really feel comfortable there. I lack the qualities to play at that position. My speed and my heading are my biggest qualities and they are highly necessary when playing in the centre," said the Argentinian defender in Het Nieuwsblad.

A sensitive point is the communication between the different nationalities that make up the Anderlecht defence. According to Pareja it's not a big problem: "Just like Juhasz I speak English and we both understand the french football terms. Of course it takes some time with each player. It's easier playing with a set duo in central defence. You learn to know each other and think along the same lines."
