Vercauteren: “Deserved victory”

Coach Vercauteren can only be satisfied about the achievements of his team. They played well and won the game. That’s a good thing to keep the confidence in the team.


“I'm happy about the game and especially about the way they played. The first 45’ we played at very high level in a game where both teams were good. Genk showed that they have a good team but we had the best chances and I think it’s a deserved victory.”

Vercauteren is not sure if this game is a good sign for the competition game in two weeks: “Maybe a bit. But the Belgian cup and the competition are so different. I’m sure that Genk will learn something about this game. This is a victory for the team. Tonight we are going to enjoy the feeling.
