Anderlecht let know that it will cooperate in Vanden Borre's transfer this summer. "A transfer should save him," claims his personal assistant Yvon Verhoeven. Manager Van Holsbeeck comes to the same conclusion.

"A change of scenery will do him good," said Van Holsbeeck in Het Nieuwsblad. "If both parties agree and a club is willing to take over his three year contract, Vanden Borre is allowed to leave.

According to Verhoeven, the young player was never more relaxed, but on the field he doesn't bring what is expected of him. "I cannot explain his weaker performances and the Anderlecht staff can't either."

Vanden Borre's manager Didier Frenay thinks a change of air will do him good. "Maybe it's better that Anthony leaves his old surroundings behind. That way he can completely focus on his career. If a young player is succesful everyone wants to have some business with him." Frenay gave the example of Gaby Mudingayi, who was at a dead end when playing for AA Gent a few years but is now a key player for Lazio Roma.
