The way the team played against Westerlo was bad. It wasn’t a good repetition for the clash against Bruges this weekend. Manager Van Holsbeeck explains what is wrong with the team.

“There’s a lot of quality in the team, I’ve seen it on training, but when we play a real game the players don’t play the same. Against Lille and AEK they managed to play a very strong game, because they were going for the win. In Belgium the teams adapt to the level of Anderlecht but I noticed that we can’t always find a solution to do something against the defenders.”

“The result against Westerlo was good, but the way the team played not. I would like to see a bit more spectacle but you can’t order that.”

As we announced yesterday Anderlecht are going to talk with Vercauteren at the end of February about a possible new contract. The staff doesn’t want to take a decision before the games against Bruges and Genk are played.
