Stoica: "Maybe I'll return to Anderlecht some day"

It will be a very special match for Alin Stoica tonight. The Rumanian midfielder will play with AA Ghent against his former team RSC Anderlecht. "It's a game like any other", says Stoica. "We have to win and I hope to play."


"Anderlecht are the best team of the country and it would be obvious if they won. However, I really think we have a chance." Alin Stoica has to become the successor of Mbark Boussoufa in Ghent. "I'm totally different than Boussoufa", says Stoica. "Why would I compare myself with him? I became champion with Anderlecht and reached the second group stage of the Champions League. Can Boussoufa say the same?"

"I was very disappointed because Anderlecht didn't extend my contract in 2002. Anderlecht was the team of my heart. We negotiated, but in vain. I don't understand why Anderlecht treat talented players like that. They sacked Scifo, also Walter Baseggio had to leave Anderlecht. But I don't want revenge, I still have great memories about Anderlecht. And maybe I'll return to Brussels some day."
