It goes without saying that everyone in Anderlecht was very disappointed after the Champions League loss against Italian AC Milan. Surely against 10 players, everyone agreed it was the perfect chance to obtain the victory.

"We had a good opportunity when they lost one player", reacted Mbark Boussoufa. "But we never really took advantage of that situation. We should have played more attacking, but we were afraid. AC Milan scored the goal we should have made. It's really too bad."

Franky Vercauteren was very clear about the game. "The performance was good, the result is bad. We had many chances, but we missed them all. AC Milan scored out of a situation that was not even a chance. Milan played very patient, we did not. We were too enthousiastic. We should really win points against Milan in two weeks, and hope that Lille lose points. It's our only chance."

"We believed in a stunt after that red card, but in vain", said Olivier Deschacht. It's really painful to lose like this. But we had the chances, and against a top team you should score then. Nevertheless, we are a lot wiser after this game and we played well-organised."

Roland Juhasz made a great header on the upright shortly before the whistle, but he was not lucky in his attempt. "I could have been the hero of the evening. I only heard afterwards I hit the posts. It's really a pity. We were so close."

"We thought we could win, we all attacked, but we were punished by Kaka", summarized Bart Goor the game. "They were very clever and patient because they are so experienced. I still think we have a chance to qualify for the next group stage, though. Maybe we can get a point in the San Siro stadium, and above all, we have to win against Lille. Then we still have a chance."
