Mpenza got his chance

Mpenza was able to start against Mouscron. Vercauteren gave him a chance. After a minute Mpenza had the chance to score but he hit the stake. “I couldn’t place the ball better”, said Mbo.


“If I had shot a little more to the right it would have been next to the goal. I’m sure that I can mean a lot for the team against Tchite. I was really happy and I gave me a good feeling to play with the first team.”

He wasn’t sure about his place against Mouscron: “During the walk for tactical instructions the coach told me that I would start. I know that I can do better. My first half was a lot better than my second half. I was a lot quicker in the first half.”

A happy Mpenza concludes with some advice: “You never have to be surprised in football. You have to take every chance you have. You have to keep hoping and on one day you’ll be lucky. The coach asked me to give me for a 100% and that’s what I did.”
