This Saturday, Anderlecht play against Mouscron, the previous club of Mbo Mpenza. But the striker will be on the bench. He’s disappointed but he tries to stay positive.

“A few weeks ago I expressed my irritation in the press because I was sick and tired of everything”, admits Mpenza. “I was one of the best strikers last season, now I’m on the bench. I still have the same qualities. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through” reacts Mpenza.

“I didn’t leave in August. There were a few clubs who were interested. But if I leave Anderlecht, I want to play for a stronger club. None of the clubs who wanted to buy me were stronger than Anderlecht. But I know that this has to stop. There are a lot of games: the competition, the Belgian cup and the Champions League. Maybe I’ll have my chance”, hopes the striker.

He played against Real and Lazio. “It was a good thing for me. The Champions League has been very important for me. That’s why it hurts me so much that I have to play with the b-team. The coach says that he also needs the players on the bench. I hope he means it” concludes Mpenza.
