Legear: "I always want to replace someone"

Jonathan Legear played a very good match against Panathinaikos on the right back position, but Vercauteren doesn’t think he’s a right back. Legear has the same opinion, but he always wants to replace someone for a while.


“Against Panathinaikos I was more a right midfielder, because Vadis played in my back.” says Legear. “In the Belgian competition I could play on the right back, but that wouldn’t work in the Champions League. I’m way too offensive. I have volume and I give good centers. I can use those things the most in an offensive position.”

Everyone always predicted that Legear would be a star very quickly, but last season he was rather inconspicuous. “My knee was operated on. Just because of the fact that I wanted to go too fast. In the past I also enjoyed the receptions and parties, but now football is the only thing that matters to me. I want to play as much as possible and in 6 months I want to be an international for the young Red Devils”, says a very ambitious Legear.
