Deschacht: “I prefer the left back”

A few days ago the press said that Deschacht could play in de central defence. Deschacht is not really happy with that, he still prefers the left back to become a better player. Although it's positive that the coach counts on him.


Deschacht: "I prefer to stay on the left back, but it’s a positive thing that Vercauteren counts on me. I want to be the best for my position. The central defence is for later, when I’m older, and slower.”

Olivier Deschacht is one of players who is always selected. But he’s not fed up with the fact that the coach of the national team Vandereycken doesn’t select him. “Of course I’m disappointed, it hurts me that I’m not in the national team.
