Vercauteren: "unlucky with the blessures"

Franky Vercauteren stands for a difficult task: building a complete new team and make them ready for the season and the Champions League. The expectations are high because Anderlecht is one of the favourites for the title.

Vercauteren: “I will be happy when Anderlecht comes through September without losing points. Sunday to Sint-Truiden. Then home against Germinal Beerschot, where everybody excepts that we win. Then to Westerlo, which is always difficult. And on the fourth matchday the topmatch against Club Brugge. Bu there won’t be any excuses if it goes wrong.

He doesn’t says if the team is ready yet and he only notices that Jelle Van Damme is working well in the defensive and that they are unlucky with the blessures of some players. He hopes there will come reinforcements for the defensive. That was clearly to see during the supercup but he refuses to give the defensive the debt about the chances they gave away: “The whole team begged off when losing the ball. And then I have it not only about the positions.
Then it also goes about the adaptation and the executing of defensive tasks.
Such a thing must happen in team connection."

About the fact why Biglia, one of the most expensive players of Anderlecht this season, had to sit on the bank was he clearly: “that was for some reasons. It’s not because a player cost a lot of money that he always has to play.
Apparently in Belgium there comes always a link between the price and the playchances of a player. Why does it have to be like this?”

Also he stays quite soberly regarding the Champions League and the chance to play European after the winter: “We are direct placed for the groups phase of the Champions League, but many will depends from the loting. Last year we got Chelsea, Liverpool and the so-called weaker team from the fourth pot Real Betis. Then you may not begin to float, but you must see the reality.”
