The German press reports that Bayer Leverkusen have serious interest in Hannu Tihinen. Nevertheless, the Bundesliga team are still doubting. They want a defender who is also able to play on their right wing.

Tihinen caught the attention of Leverkusen already a long time ago. They already had wanted to sign him before he went to Anderlecht. Jens Nowotny will leave Leverkusen, so this would be a perfect chance for Leverkusen to sign Tihinen.

"He is out of contract, which is a serious advantage", said Leverkusen coach Michael Skibbe. "But we want a central defender who is also able to play on the right wing. I don't think Tihinen is capable of doing that. Buying a central and a right defender is not really an option. We are still interested in Tihinen, but we will take our time for this decision", said Skribbe.
