Soon, Anderlecht will decide of Walter Baseggio's future. The midfielder relegates with Treviso to the Italian second division and therefore wants to return to Brussels.

Though Treviso are very pleased of Baseggio's performance and they try everything to keep him in Italy. On top of that, it's not yet sure that Treviso will indeed relegate because they started a case with the Italian Football Organisation. If the outcome is in favour of the club, they can easily pay the needed transfer fee of 2.5 million.

Treviso also negociated with Anderlecht about a swap with their Brazilian striker Reginaldo. He scored 5 goals 30 games.

Besides Treviso, also Sampdoria Genua are interested in Walt's services. A transfer to a Dutch club or to Charleroi doesn't seem a possibility anymore.

But what about a return to Brussels? Even that is not unlikely. Roger Vanden Stock already indicated that he wasn't against Baseggio's return. And also Pär Zetterberg, who's into Anderlecht's board right now, said he sees Baseggio as his successor.
