Silvio Proto, Anthony Vanden Borre, Bart Goor and Mbo Mpenza have been chosen by René Vandereycken for the practise game against Luxemburg the first of March.

Because Onder Turaci prefers the Turkish national team to the Red Devils, a Bruges player got called up for a practise game. Philippe Clement is going to be Turaci’s replacer. It is also possible that Bruges – goalkeeper Stijn Stijnen travels along with the group because Proto is feeling a bit ill.

Daniel Van Buyten got injured and he is replaced by Philippe Léonard of Standard.

Goalkeepers: Silvio Proto (RSC Anderlecht), Geert De Vlieger (Manchester City)( also possible: Stijn Stijnen, Bruges)

Defenders: Clement (Club Brugge), Philippe Léonard (Standard), Anthony Vanden Borre (RSC Anderlecht), Peter Van der Heyden (Wolfsburg), Thomas Vermaelen (Ajax)

Midfielders: Karel Geraerts (Standard), Bart Goor (RSC Anderlecht), Gaby Mudingayi (Lazio), Timmy Simons (PSV Eindhoven/Ned), Thomas Buffel (Glasgow Rangers), Gill Swerts (Vitesse)

Strikers: Stein Huysegems (AZ), Mbo Mbenza (RSC Anderlecht), Luigi Pieroni (AJ Auxerre/Fra), Wesley Sonck (Mönchengladbach), Kevin Vandenbergh (RC Genk)
