Despite the defeat of Standard, Anderlecht couldn't take the first position in the ranking. Franky Vercauteren changed his team and formation again, with the know consequences: loss of points. A new title is still far away...

Anderlecht started rathed weak. They dominated the game, but couldn't create a lot of chances against a defensive Cercle. The pace was too low, though Goor could have opened the score, but his shot died on the upright.

Meyssen brought Cercle Brugge ahead in the second half with a brilliant goal. But this strike was good for the game: Anderlecht awakened and tried to keep the three points home. Vanden Borre brought Anderlecht aside with a hard shot past Vandendriessche. The Mauves pushed Cercle back and a decent Pujol reinforced the offensive line. Though it was Cercle that came ahead again: 1-2 via Dekelver.

The Anderlecht fans got frustrated thanks to the inferior referee. Though they screamed their team forward. It was Frutos who relight the fire with a strike after 84 minutes: 2-2. Vercauteren brought Serhat Akin into play and the team pushed forward, but Cercle stayed well organised. That way, the game ending in a disappointin draw. Meanwhile, the fans eagerly wait on better times...
