RSC Anderlecht have beaten Ghent with 3-0. The first half was weak, but the Mauves showed their technical skills in the second half. Despite the few chances in the first 45 minutes, the score at half time was already 2-0.

The Bufallo's started the best with a few good chances. Tihinen, Juhasz and Proto kept them from scoring. Anderlecht had only one serious chance through an excellent Juhasz, but his ball hit the post. Though Tihinen netted the rebound with a header: 1-0. In the stoppage time, Mpenza even made it 2-0.

The second half was a lot better. Anderlecht amused their fans with a few great dribbles and combinations. They also created a lot of chances. The best were for Jestrovic, who was replaced later in the game, Goor and Deschacht.

Wilhelmsson was the most active player on the field. He set up a nice combination with Vanden Borre, who opened for Mpenza. The striker only had to push the ball past Herpoel: 3-0.

Walter Baseggio also got a chance to play and was loudly supported by the fans.
