Nielsen - Belgium 4-0

Danish referee Kim Milton Nielsen already lead four games of a Belgian team. Each time, something remarkable happened. We made a short overview of those fout games.


24/03/2001 Scotland - Belgium 2-2

Eric Deflandre is sent off for a hand ball in the box.

10/12/2003 München - Anderlecht 1-0

Anderlecht needed a draw to be qualified for the next round. Nielsen gives Bayern a very doubtful penalty and denies Anderlecht of one later in the game. He also missed a tackle from behind on Wilhelmsson. That way, the Mauves even ended up last in the group.

09/10/2004 Spain - Belgium

Eric Deflandre gets sent off again after shouting "Fuck you". In the second half, Goor also receives a red card for spitting in the direction of Xavi.

01/11/2005 Liverpool - Anderlecht

Nenad Jestrovic is sent off after saying "Fuck you" to Mohamed Sissoko. The Liverpool striker called Jestrovic "Fils de pute" first, but Nielsen didn't notice that.

In the same game, Nielsen could have given Anderlecht a penalty after a (light) foul on Serhat Akin in the box. Mpenza was tackled when he could have broken through the Liverpool defense and when Wilhelmsson appeared alone in front of the keeper, the linesman gives offside (incorrectly). On the other side, Cissé scored the 3-0 from an offside position.
