Anderlecht beat Celtic (update)

Anderlecht have beaten Celtic Glasgow on the 3rd matchday of the Champions Leage. The final score was 1-0, thanks to a goal of Aruna. The Mauves had to play with 10 men for 70 minutes.


Anderlecht started well with a few chances. Deschacht's shot hit the crossbar and Aruna's header wasn't strong enough to score. After 15 minutes, De Boeck got yellow for an unnecessary foul in the midfield. 5 minutes later, he pulled down Larson close to the box. The referee gave him his second yellow card and the Mauves had to continue with 11. Trainer Hugo Broos choose for offensive football and only held 3 men back to defend.
Celtic scored after some pressure, but the goal was declare illegal due to offside.

In the second half, it was Anderlecht that pushed Celtic back. Mornar, Baseggio and Aruna had a few good chances, but they missed.
After 72 minutes, Wilhelmsson centered and Aruna could score. Anderlecht kept on putting pressure on Celtic and were dangerous on counter-attacks. Meanwhile, the defense, with a superb Kompany, could hold easily. That way, the game ended in a deserved 1-0 victory for Anderlecht.
