Anderlecht humiliate Bakou

Anderlecht have defeated Neftchi Bakou from Azerbeidjan in the second Champions League qualification round with a 5-0 score. The Brussels' club was never in danger and obtained an easy victory.


The Mauves made the difference in the first half with great combination football and high pressure. Especially the right wing was impressive, with Vanden Borre and Christian Wilhelmsson.

Tihinen opened the score after 21 minutes of play with a header on a corner kick. A few minutes later, Nenad Jestrovic doubled the score with a nice header. After 32 minutes, Mbo Mpenza scored the 3-0. Goor scored the 4-0 on an indirect free kick.

In the second half, the Mauves controled the game. They still got a few great chances, but missed. Only Vanderhaeghe managed to score: 5-0.
Serhat Akin and Walter Baseggio came into play and left a good impression.
