Anderlecht meet Bakou from Azerbeidzjan tomorrow. That club forms the first obstacle in the way to the Champions League. "2-0 is not enough", says coach Franky Vercauteren.
"But I don't know what kind of team we're playing. I'll surely find out on Tuesday. We know they have a great fighting spirit. They will come to defend and try to counter-attack. I've heard they have a good right winger. We can't call them a small club. Small clubs does not exist in this phase of the tournament. And by the way, these kind of clubs always try to surprise the opponent. Can it go wrong? Yes, when we play below our level", explains Vercauteren.
The assignment is clear: "We have to win with a big difference. 2-0 is not enough. First of all, we have to try to prevent them from scoring. Then we must score 3 or 4 times. That way, we don't have to be scared for our trip to Bakou. That's why a 2-0 score is not enough. They'll still have hope then. We have to realise that this is an opponent in the race for the Champions League."
