After 5 years in Anderlecht, Aruna experienced a lot in Belgium. The striker has chosen for Lens and was introduced last Tuesday to the French media. He gave a short interview in which he talked about Anderlecht and Belgium.

- Intertoto Cup with Lens...and you could have played the Champions League with Anderlecht. It is the first time you have been talking about this transfer. How do you explain your choice?

"It is funny because Intertoto is the only Cup I have never played in. It was enough for me in Anderlecht. The Champions League was no longer a priority. I kept saying it many times: I must play in a better league, against ruder opponents. In some kind of way, the club does not matter that much. Sometimes you have to make one step backward and make two steps forward later on. But I do not underestimate Lens: it is a great club, very ambitious. Here I will find the best conditions for my career. And if we end at least third, we will also play the Champions League."

- Have you already come back to Anderlecht after your contract was officialised?

"Not yet, I played with my national team, then I was on holiday. I have only talked with Lamine Traoré and Pierre Leroy by phone. It is very hard to leave your club after 5 seasons. But I will come back to Belgium from time to time, it is not that far, you know. And moreover, I am Belgian, so you will not have me run away that way! (smile.) I experienced everything in Anderlecht. Ups and downs. I left in good terms, I think, after winning almost everything: champion of Belgium, Pro Football Player, Golden Shoe, Ebony Shoe and so on. Last year, it would have been even more beautiful to leave, but it was impossible. Anyway, this is past and I do not want to talk about it anymore. This time, I have left and I am happy with what I did in Brussels. I am proud of my career and I hope to experience a lot of beautiful moments with Lens."

- This red card for your last match in Belgium is a pity...

"It is. If I hope to find better referees in Ligue 1? I hope so, but you find stupid guys everywhere. There were also stupid guys in Belgium, for example against Brugge (the referee was Mr. Gumienny). But it is not his fault if he is bad. Anyway, I do not feel like commenting upon Belgium because of one stupid guy".
