In prestigious Conrad Hotel in Brussel, Vincent Kompany had an interview with the media. Of course they talked about the key-question: does he stay or does he go away?

Kompany: "It was a good year for me. I have made much progress and next year I want to make a further step forward. But it is too early now to say whether I stay or not".

It is reported that teams abroad are ready to pay enormously much to have Kompany. But Vincent stays ice-cold quiet about it: "That would be a reward for Anderlecht. I do not have any influence on that stuff. It is so complicated that I do not want to think about it. How much a club is ready to pay for me has no importance at all".

"I still have plenty of time to take my decision. Anyway, there is no bad choice. There are good clubs and better clubs. But it would not be hard at all for me to stay in Belgium because I really like Brussel".

However, Kompany cannot hide his preference to play abroad. He immediately thinks to three competitions.

"I am not afraid of playing abroad. I like travelling and discovering other cultures. I have mushc respect for Serie A. That is the competitions of great defenders, tactics and rational football: I really like it."

"But the nicest competitions to follow are, I think, the Liga and the Premiership. If I had the choice, I would choose for one the two. But now, I am busy with my exams. I have to catch up 8 months stuff in only one month."

In a tentative to keep Kompany, Anderlecht proposed him an attractive contract. If he signs it, he will become the best paid football player in the club's history.
